IVF

In vitro fertilization is a method used for couples with infertility problems to have a baby. This treatment method is carried out by combining the egg and sperm of the couples in a laboratory environment and transferring the embryo to the uterus.

In order to apply IVF treatment, first of all, couples should be evaluated by doctors and some tests should be done. These tests include detecting the ovarian reserve of the woman, checking the permeability of the tubes, and evaluating the quality of the man's sperm.

IVF treatment usually consists of 4 stages.

Egg Development

At this stage, the woman is given ovarian stimulating drugs to develop more than one egg. In this way, it becomes possible to create more than one embryo.

Egg Collection

The woman's eggs are collected in an ultrasound-guided procedure after using stimulant drugs. This procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia and takes about 20-30 minutes.

Sperm Preparation

The semen sample of the man is prepared in the laboratory and the most healthy and motile sperms are selected.

Embryo Transfer

Embryos are matured for 2-5 days after fertilization with sperm in the laboratory environment. The mature embryos are transferred to the woman's uterus with the help of a catheter.

IVF treatment can bring some risks. The most common risks include non-pregnant implantation (inability of the embryo to attach to the uterus), multiple pregnancy, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, and infections. However, IVF treatment is a treatment method with a high success rate.

IVF treatment can be an option for couples to realize their dreams of having children. However, each step of the treatment should be done with care and attention. In addition, the results of IVF treatment may vary depending on many factors. Among the factors affecting the success of the treatment, the woman's advanced age, damaged tubes, and low sperm quality in the man can be counted.

IVF treatment can be financially challenging for some couples. For this reason, IVF treatment is not covered by health insurance in many countries. However, as a result of interviews with doctors who are experts in IVF treatment, it is possible for couples to have information about different institutions and organizations that can provide financial support for this treatment method.

As a result, IVF treatment can be an option for couples to fulfill their dreams of having a baby. However, each step of the treatment should be done with care and attention. In addition, obtaining detailed information about IVF treatment and meeting with the experts in the field can enable couples to have a more comfortable process during the treatment process.
